AI cannot replicate relationships. And it's been my experience that projects will live or die, fail or succeed, on the basis of how strong the relationship is. ✨ 90 Day Bold Move Career Accelerator Learn more here 👉 https://www.georgiehubbard.com/bold-moves — 📚 The Bold Move https://www.theboldmovebook.com — Connect with Georgie: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️ Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com — Connect with Prue Jones: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/prue-jones/ ♦️ Website: https://www.pruejones.com.au 🟪 Instagram: @prudencemjones — For 20 years, Prue Jones has worked in the creative industries. She's watched technology change everything, from painting with gouache and pasting up type by hand to the birth of Adobe Creative Suite, the explosion of UX, and now the arrival of AI. And here's what she's learned: design was never really about the visuals. It was always about the decisions. The taste. The judgment. The relationships. The ability to see the whole picture when everyone else is stuck in their silo. Those are the things AI can't do. And those are the things that will make senior women with multiple skills absolutely invaluable in the age of AI. In this episode of the Career Confidence Podcast, Georgie sits down with Prue Jones, a creative director, designer, and leader who's spent her career connecting people, process, and creativity across some of Australia's most complex projects. Prue shares why she believes the future belongs to what she calls comb-shaped people, women who have depth across multiple verticals, not just one. Women who can take the 10,000-foot view. Women who understand that AI can automate tasks, but it can't reassure a client, anticipate what's coming next in a conversation, or hold a team together through messy change. This conversation is about what happens when you stop trying to pick a lane and start leaning into the breadth of your experience. It's about why taste, judgment, and critical thinking are becoming more valuable, not less. It's about the difference between facilitating transactions and facilitating connection. And it's about why the next chapter of work isn't about being the most technical person in the room. It's about being the person who can bring it all together. Prue also shares how she's upskilling herself on AI, why she's finding it fun rather than fearful, and the one thing she wishes more designers understood: just because we can doesn't mean we should. In this episode: How Prue's career has spanned 20 years in the creative industries, from gouache paint to AI Why design is really a set of decisions, not just visuals What Prue got wrong in 2017 when she said AI would never touch human creativity Why she believes AI is here to stay, and why it's imperative to understand it even if you're uncomfortable using it How she's using AI in her own design process, from Figma agents to Claude MCP Why taste is the one thing the machine cannot manufacture on its own What comb-shaped people are, and why senior women with multiple skills will win in the age of AI Why having a 10,000-foot view is one of the most valuable skills you can bring to an organisation Why AI cannot replicate relationships, and why soft skills are more important than ever How to lean into the breadth of your experience rather than trying to pick one lane Why Prue is moving from facilitating transactions to facilitating connection What the experience economy looks like, from book doofs to sleep concerts Why human connection will become even more valuable as the world becomes more reliant on technology Why just because we can doesn't mean we should, and the unintended consequences of AI design decisions How organisations need to think very carefully about who owns what in an interaction One of the biggest takeaways from this conversation? Your breadth of experience isn't a problem. It's your superpower. The women who will thrive in the age of AI aren't the ones who can do one thing perfectly. They're the ones who can pull on multiple skills, take the 10,000-foot view, and bring people together. They're the comb-shaped women. And they're about to become absolutely invaluable.
What’s the one thing every woman should do this week to start increasing her earning potential? Women already earn less, save less, and retire with less. We're paid less for the same work. We take time out for caring responsibilities that go unvalued and unpaid. We're told we're not technical enough, not strategic enough, too risk averse. And now, AI is being trained on data that reflects all of that. In this episode of AI Ready Women, Georgie and Lou sit down with Angela Meyer, an award winning strategist, speaker, bestselling author, and co founder of High Money and Project Gender. Angela has spent years championing women's economic equality, and she's written a brilliant paper called Counted In: What AI Could Be Fixing About Women's Financial Lives and Why It Isn't. This conversation is about what happens when AI learns from a financial system that was built 250 years ago by men, for men. It's about why women are being given more conservative financial advice by AI, even when they ask the same questions as men. It's about the invisible work that women do every single day that has never been counted, never been valued, and is now being completely left out of the algorithms shaping our financial futures. Angela shares why she believes this is one of the most pivotal moments we've had to redesign the system. Why talking about money openly is one of the most powerful things women can do. And why AI literacy isn't just a nice to have anymore. It's a wealth building tool. She also unpacks the research from MIT and Stanford that found women using AI for financial advice ended up with $60,000 less wealth by age 60, largely because the AI assumed they were more risk averse. Not because they were. But because of the way they asked questions. This episode will make you think differently about the stories you've been told about money, the beliefs you've inherited, and the systems you're trying to navigate. In this episode: How beliefs about money are shaped by the age of seven, and why that matters The invisible work women do that has never been valued or counted in our economic system What happens when AI is trained on data that reflects systemic gender bias The MIT and Stanford study that found women ended up with $60,000 less wealth by age 60 when using AI for financial advice Why AI assumes women are more risk averse, and how that assumption is costing women money Why women are not risk averse, we just understand calculated risk differently How the gender pay gap, the pink tax, and career interruptions compound over a lifetime Why so many capable women feel shame about money, even when they're managing million dollar budgets at work The why behind the buy exercise, and how it helps you get curious about your spending Why talking about money openly with other women is one of the most powerful things you can do How AI literacy can become a wealth building tool for women Why women need to be creators of AI, not just consumers of it The one thing every woman should do this week to start increasing her earning potential One of the biggest takeaways from this conversation? The best thing we can do is talk about money. Because if we don't talk about how much we're getting paid with each other and with the men in our companies, chances are they're getting a lot more than us. And if we don't start shaping the AI systems being built right now, we'll be locked into the same biased systems for decades to come. Only faster. This is your reminder that you're not behind. You're not bad with money. The system was just never designed for you. And now is the moment to change that. — ✨ 60 Day Bold Move Career Accelerator Learn more here 👉 https://www.georgiehubbard.com/bold-moves — 📚 The Bold Move https://www.theboldmovebook.com — Connect with Georgie: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️ Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com — Connect with Lou Compagnone: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/loucompagnone/ — Connect with Angela Meyer: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/angela-meyer-378b321a/ ♦️ Website: https://www.angela-meyer.com 📚 Money Money Money by Angela Meyer and Rachel Davies - https://himoney.co/ 📄 Counted In: What AI Could Be Fixing About Women's Financial Lives and Why It Isn't
You can carry your career around as a kind of blur. A sense of having done a lot, but without ever seeing what it actually adds up to. That's what Emma Buckland realised when she finally sat down and looked at her career cumulatively. Years of work. Thousands of people helped. Millions of dollars in impact. But she'd never properly counted it before. And that's the thing about visibility. It doesn't start with LinkedIn. It doesn't start with speaking at conferences. It starts with becoming visible to yourself first. In this episode of the Career Confidence Podcast, Georgie sits down with Emma Buckland, a mobile UX designer with 17 years of experience across financial services, public sector, and corporate design. Emma's career has taken her from acting to designing mobile experiences that have reached millions of people across Australia and the world. But for years, she carried that work around without ever really seeing what it amounted to. Until she did the work of looking back, connecting the dots, and recognising the evidence that was already there. This conversation is about what happens when you stop waiting for someone else to recognise your value and start seeing it for yourself. It's about why self-trust isn't just a mindset; it's grounded in evidence. It's about how Emma went from applying to speak at UX Australia thinking they'd say no, to delivering a talk that challenged the entire design industry on how we think about mobile and interrupted attention. Emma also shares how she's thinking about AI, why she believes designers need to refuse to let it distract us from the things that are still broken, and why the real differentiator in an AI-driven world will be the quality of thinking behind the work, not just the speed at which we can produce it. In this episode: How Emma went from acting to mobile UX design, and why both come from the same impulse Why she became fascinated by financial services and the complexity of designing within constraints What's changed in 17 years of working in UX and mobile design Why Emma believes we need to stay ahead of AI without letting it distract us from what's still broken in design The blind spot in the design industry that Emma challenged at UX Australia: we're not designing for interrupted attention Why the real differentiator in an AI world will be quality of thinking, judgment, curiosity, and adaptability How Emma prepared for and delivered her talk at UX Australia, and why public speaking terrified her Why visibility starts with becoming visible to yourself first How Emma looked at her career cumulatively for the first time and realised the enormous contribution she'd never properly counted Why self-trust is grounded in evidence, not just mindset What happens when you carry your career around as a blur versus seeing what it actually adds up to Why staying connected to the work and the people you've helped matters more than the numbers How AI is changing Emma's work, from two weeks of research down to two hours, and the brain fry that comes with it Why Emma believes AI needs governance and why designers shouldn't lose sight of the problems AI can't solve What the boldest version of Emma looks like: not a bigger title, but using her experience more fully in ways that have wider effect One of the biggest takeaways from this conversation? Visibility begins with being able to see and articulate your own value before expecting anyone else to see it. You can't position yourself for what's next if you've never properly counted what you've already done. Behind those numbers are real people. People who received money they were owed, or managed something they'd been avoiding, or were protected from losing something because the experience finally worked. That's not just a job. That's a contribution. And it's time you started seeing it that way. — ✨ 60 Day Bold Move Career Accelerator Learn more here 👉 https://www.georgiehubbard.com/bold-moves — 📚 The Bold Move https://www.theboldmovebook.com — Connect with Georgie: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️ Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com — Connect with Emma Buckland: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/emmabuckland/
If you read the headline that AI is going to take your job, well, it might. But only if you don't learn how to work with it, you don't become more visible, and you don't know your worth. The headlines are everywhere right now. AI will take your job. Agents are out of control. We're on the cusp of superintelligence. Or even worse, AI is going to destroy us all. And underneath all of that noise, there's a quieter, more insidious message: you're falling behind. You're not technical enough. You don't know enough. You're not doing enough. In this episode of the Career Confidence Podcast, Georgie and Lou sit down to talk about the language being used around AI right now, and what it's actually doing to us. They call it FOE and FOMO. Fear of extinction and fear of missing out. Two narratives that sound like opposites but actually work the same way, creating urgency, panic and paralysis, and stopping us from asking the most important question of all: is this even a future we want? Because here's the thing. The women who are thriving in this moment aren't the ones spiraling over every headline. They're the ones asking better questions. They're the ones staying calm, staying curious, and staying visible. They're the ones adding AI to what they already know, rather than trying to become someone else entirely. This conversation is about how to move from AI fearful to AI ready. It's about protecting your headspace in a world designed to hijack your attention. It's about understanding who benefits when you believe the narrative. And it's about recognising that your years of experience, your wisdom, your leadership, none of that is obsolete. It just needs to be positioned correctly. Georgie and Lou also unpack the real opportunities that exist right now for women who are willing to lead, not just keep up. From building agents to running Lunch and Learns. From asking where you want to lead, not just how to keep up. From using fear as fuel to innovate, not as a reason to hide. In this episode: The two narratives shaping AI right now: FOE (fear of extinction) and FOMO (fear of missing out) Why the language of inevitability is stopping us from asking if this is even the future we want How to protect your headspace when the headlines are designed to hijack your attention Why coming from a place of calm, not chaos, is the most important thing you can do right now The difference between being AI ready and being AI panicked Why you need to ask: who's saying this, what do they gain if I believe it, and what choice does this story take off the table for me? Why your subconscious is always listening, and why what you consume every day matters more than you think How to use fear as fuel to innovate, not as a reason to hide Why the question isn't how can I keep up, it's where do I want to lead How one woman is using AI to build agents, run Lunch and Learns, and position herself as a leader in her organisation Why your years of experience aren't obsolete, they just need to be positioned correctly Why visibility, curiosity and critical thinking are the skills that will set you apart How to add AI to what you already know, rather than trying to become someone else entirely One of the biggest takeaways from this conversation? Don't ask how you can keep up. Ask where you want to lead. Because the women who are thriving right now aren't the most technical. They're the most visible, the most curious, and the most strategic. They're the ones who understand that AI is a people problem, not just a technology problem. And they're the ones who are staying AI ready, not AI fearful. — ✨ 60 Day Bold Move Career Accelerator Learn more here 👉 https://www.georgiehubbard.com/bold-moves — 📚 The Bold Move https://www.theboldmovebook.com — Connect with Georgie: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️ Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com — Connect with Lou Compagnone: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/loucompagnone/
Within minutes, an interview was locked in. Within weeks, she was in the third stage interview. And she landed the job. That job was never advertised. It never hit a job board. And it's exactly the case in point of how powerful your network is. In this episode of the Career Confidence Podcast, Georgie sits down with Priscilla, a transformation and technology leader who's spent her career connecting people, process and technology in some of Australia's biggest retail and tech organisations. After years at David Jones leading digital trannew way sformation, Priscilla recently stepped into a brand new AI-focused role at a fast-growing scale-up. And here's the thing: the role was never advertised. An old boss reached out. They had a conversation. And within weeks, she was in. This conversation is about what it actually takes to break into AI roles when you're not the most technical person in the room. It's about why curiosity and problem solving matter more than coding. It's about the hidden cost of AI that no one's talking about yet, like token usage, data governance, and how one workflow change can break three other systems if you're not thinking holistically. Priscilla shares how she's upskilling herself on AI, from using Claude for personal budgeting to building agents, to learning how Copilot works across different Microsoft tools, and why it's changing almost every month. She also talks about what companies are getting wrong when they rush to implement AI without clarity on the problem they're actually trying to solve, and why the soft skills, the human connection, the ability to bring people together, are going to be the most valuable skills in an AI-driven world. In this episode: How Priscilla landed her AI role through her network, not a job board Why technology is no longer a specialised area but everyone's business Whether you actually need a tech degree to work in AI The skills companies are hiring for right now: orchestration, communication, and the human touch What Priscilla's doing day to day in her new AI-focused role Why data strategy and governance are foundational to AI success How AI is being used to automate credit processing and document intake How she's upskilling herself on AI, from Claude to Copilot to building agents Why Copilot in PowerPoint was terrible six months ago and is now amazing The hidden cost of AI that most people don't think about: token usage Why companies need to think about cost control, not just cost effectiveness The new questions you need to ask vendors: where is the metadata stored? Is it overseas? What's your AI governance? Why most companies are applying AI without clarity on the problem they're solving Why delivery is the easy part, and getting clarity is the hard part How Priscilla thinks about the future of work and why humans will always be needed Why soft skills, critical thinking, and the courage to ask questions will matter more than technical expertise Her advice for women who feel intimidated by AI: embrace it, give it a go, and remember no one is an expert right now One of the biggest takeaways from this conversation? You don't need to be the most technical person to break into AI. You need to be curious, ask good questions, and understand how to connect technology with people and business outcomes. As Priscilla puts it: if anyone says they're an expert in AI right now, you should probably ask why they think that. Because no one is. Everyone is learning. And that's exactly why now is the time to start. — ✨ 60 Day Bold Move Career Accelerator Learn more here 👉 https://www.georgiehubbard.com/bold-moves — 📚 The Bold Move https://www.theboldmovebook.com — Connect with Georgie: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️ Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com — Connect with Priscilla 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/priscillachanau/
AI is supposed to make us more productive. So why are so many of us using it all day… and finishing work feeling completely mentally fried? In this episode of AI Ready Women, Georgie Hubbard and Lou Compagnoni sit down with behavioural scientist Angela Bliss to explore what our increasing reliance on AI could be doing to the way we think, work and make decisions. Angela has spent years studying human behaviour and decision-making, including completing a Master’s in Behavioural Science at the London School of Economics, where her research explored how humans build trust with chatbots. And her message is one every ambitious woman using AI at work needs to hear: The goal isn’t to stop using AI. It’s to become much more deliberate about what you outsource to it. We unpack the emerging phenomenon of AI brain fry, the cognitive overload that can come from prompting, checking, comparing and managing multiple AI outputs at once, and why being able to produce more work doesn’t necessarily mean we’re doing better work. We also explore cognitive debt, automation bias, why AI can feel so addictive, and what happens when we start outsourcing judgment, creativity and independent thinking alongside the menial work. In this episode: What “AI brain fry” actually is and why knowledge workers are starting to feel it Why using AI can sometimes increase cognitive load rather than reduce it The hidden problem with AI producing work faster than humans can properly evaluate it Why hyper-productivity could be changing expectations of employees How automation bias can cause us to trust AI outputs too easily Why AI feels so compelling — even when we know there may be a cost What “cognitive debt” means and why it matters for your career Why creativity and your best thinking often happen away from the screen How AI could change the way we make decisions Why organisations need to rethink productivity in an AI-enabled workplace Why women may be particularly vulnerable to the pressure to do even more with AI How to decide what work to automate — and what thinking you should protect Why your judgement, curiosity, creativity and expertise may become even more valuable as AI improves Angela’s advice is simple but powerful: Get AI to remove the menial work. Don’t hand over the skills that are building your expertise. Because being AI ready isn’t about using AI for everything. It’s knowing where AI can make you better — and where you still need to do the thinking. —— ✨ 60 Day Bold Move Career Accelerator Learn more here 👉 https://www.georgiehubbard.com/bold-moves — — 📚 The Bold Move https://www.theboldmovebook.com — — Connect with Georgie: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️ Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com — — Connect with Lou Compagnoni: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/loucompagnone/ — — Connect with Angela Bliss: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/angela-bliss-behavioural-design/
What do you do when you know something needs to change in your career… but you have absolutely no idea what the next move should be? That’s exactly where Rebecca found herself. After more than 15 years across experience design, leadership, coaching, and transformation, she knew there were parts of her work she loved, problem-solving, facilitating, helping people make better decisions, but she wasn’t sure what that translated into as a career. Then redundancy gave her the space to stop, reflect and rethink what came next. In this episode of the Career Confidence Podcast, Rebecca joins Georgie for a very real conversation about sitting in the uncomfortable middle of a career change, resisting the urge to jump straight into another familiar job, and using design thinking to work out what you actually want next. Rebecca shares how she stopped focusing on job titles and started looking at the work she genuinely loved doing, the problems she wanted to solve and the values she wanted her next chapter to align with. And then something interesting happened. Once she got clearer and started sharing more publicly about the work she wanted to be known for, someone from her existing network reached out with an opportunity that was almost exactly what she had been trying to create. In this episode: How to recognise when you’ve outgrown your current career path Why the “uncomfortable middle” is a necessary part of meaningful career change Why jumping straight into another familiar job can take you back to exactly where you started How Rebecca used design thinking to approach her own career The questions to ask yourself when you don’t know what you want next Why your values matter just as much as your skills How to stop defining yourself by job titles and start thinking about the problems you love solving Why experimentation is often more useful than trying to have your entire future figured out How networking and visibility helped Rebecca attract her next opportunity Why sharing what you know online isn’t just “self-promotion” What redundancy taught Rebecca about job security and identity Why AI doesn’t have to mean panic — and how to start using it to make your work easier Why a learner’s mindset will be one of the most valuable career skills over the next few years How to identify the human skills you want to double down on as AI changes work One of the biggest takeaways from this conversation? You don’t have to know the exact answer immediately. Sometimes the most important thing you can do is resist the urge to jump into solution mode. What are you really good at? What kind of work gives you energy? What problems do you love solving? What do you want to be known for? What are you no longer willing to compromise on? Rebecca’s story is a brilliant reminder that clarity doesn’t always arrive in one big moment. Sometimes you have to sit with the uncertainty, experiment, learn, put yourself out there and let the next opportunity reveal itself. As Rebecca puts it: great opportunities come from movement. If you’re in that uncomfortable middle right now, this episode is for you. — ✨ 60 Day Bold Move Career Accelerator Learn more here 👉 https://www.georgiehubbard.com/bold-moves — 📚 The Bold Move https://www.theboldmovebook.com — Connect with Georgie: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️ Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com — Connect with Rebecca: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rebeccakkarpiuk/
September is one of the most important hiring windows of the year. If you want to make a move before Christmas, this is the time to get strategic. The market is still tight. Recruiters are flooded with applications. AI is increasingly being used to search, screen and shortlist candidates. So sending the same CV to every role and hoping for the best is no longer enough. ___________ ✨ 60 Day Bold Move Career Accelerator ✨ Learn more here 👉 https://www.georgiehubbard.com/bold-moves ___________ In this episode, I’m breaking down the five-part strategy I’m teaching women inside the Bold Move Career Accelerator right now: Clarity. Network. Positioning. Tailored CV. Visibility. And I’m sharing exactly why each one matters. One woman had applied for a role and heard nothing for four weeks. She reached out to one person she knew inside the company and, within 24 hours, she had an interview and was moved through to the next round. Another woman repositioned her LinkedIn profile and, within roughly 40 hours, a recruiter contacted her about a role she genuinely wanted. This episode is for you if you’re applying and hearing nothing, wondering why your experience isn’t translating into interviews, or simply want a clearer plan to help you land the right role before the end of the year. In this episode: Why September is such an important hiring window How to get clear on the role, company, environment and culture you actually want next Why your network is one of your biggest career assets How to activate relationships strategically without networking feeling awkward Why recruiters are increasingly using AI and LinkedIn search tools to find candidates How to position your LinkedIn profile around where you’re going, not just where you’ve been Why tailoring your CV is now non-negotiable Why five strong applications can be more effective than 50 generic ones How AI is changing screening and first-stage hiring Why visibility is becoming career currency How posting and commenting can create opportunities you never applied for The five-part strategy: clarity, network, positioning, tailored CV and visibility The goal isn’t more applications. Adair shares her own experience of applying for roles and hearing very little back, until someone in her network referred her. Suddenly, the process moved incredibly quickly. It’s a powerful reminder that in today’s market, your experience matters, your CV matters, but so does who knows you, what they know you for and whether you’ve built relationships before you need them. The conversation also explores why women are leaving technical careers at a higher rate than men, what AI means for women returning from career breaks, why flexibility still matters, and the growing opportunity for women to step into emerging AI and transformation roles. In this episode: Why women are leaving highly technical careers at almost twice the rate of men during mid-career Why age 40 is such a critical point for women working in technology What happens when career progression collides with caring responsibilities Why organisations that want more women need to rethink flexibility, hiring and workplace culture How quickly technology and AI can change while someone is on parental or carers leave Why structured reskilling can rebuild confidence after a career break Why some of the most exciting new AI roles require far more than traditional technical skills Why brilliant women are still being overlooked for emerging AI leadership opportunities Why referrals and relationships can dramatically change your job search Georgie’s experience receiving almost 600 applications for a single role Why relying solely on job boards is becoming an increasingly difficult strategy How to network without becoming someone you’re not Why LinkedIn visibility and personal brand matter more in an AI-driven hiring market How to use AI to improve your CV without removing the stories, personality and impact that make you different Why continual learning needs to become part of your career strategy, regardless of your role One of the biggest takeaways from this conversation? Opportunities come through people, not job boards. You don’t need hundreds of transactional connections or to spend every night at networking events. Start with the people already around you. Former managers. Colleagues. Clients. Stakeholders. People you’ve enjoyed working with throughout your career. Stay connected. Share what you’re working on. Be visible. Help people understand where you’re heading next. Because your network shouldn’t be something you start building when you suddenly need a job. For every woman who knows she should be networking but doesn't know where to start. For every woman who's terrified of putting herself out there on LinkedIn because she doesn't want to look like she's showing off. Maryanne has spent her career jumping before she was ready. From Queensland to Melbourne. From no tech experience to leading transformation programs at Origin Energy and now in retail. From staying invisible to posting on LinkedIn every week, even when it terrified her. From letting her network slip to building it with intention. And from hoping someone would notice her work to making sure the right people know exactly what she brings. This conversation is about the three things senior women need to focus on right now if they want to stay relevant, visible, and in demand: network, brand, and value. It's about why the old playbook of working hard and waiting to be noticed doesn't work anymore. It's about why networking as a woman doesn't have to look like the male version. And it's about the mindset shift that changes everything: you don't need to be perfect, you just need to start. Maryanne shares how she's using AI to build her personal brand without losing her voice. Why she moved to 80% work to be there for her daughter starting prep, and how she's teaching her to be willful, not quiet. Why she signed up for cold water swimming in winter to challenge herself. And the one thing she wishes she'd done earlier in her career: build her network before she needed it. If you've been waiting for permission to start building your visibility, this is it. ___________ In This Episode: 🟣 Why Maryanne has always jumped before she was ready, and how that's shaped her entire career 🟣 From Queensland to Melbourne, from no tech degree to leading digital transformation at Origin Energy 🟣 The three things senior women need to focus on right now: network, brand, and value 🟣 Why Maryanne didn't build her network well enough early on, and what she's doing differently now 🟣 How she's using AI to build her personal brand on LinkedIn, even though social media terrified her 🟣 Why she started posting on LinkedIn this year as her personal challenge, and how it's made her a better storyteller 🟣 The leadership skills that matter most right now: empathy, trust, and the courage to call out what's not working 🟣 Why doing more with less is the reality for every leader right now, and how to navigate that without burning out your team 🟣 How AI is being used in retail to solve inventory problems, and why clean data is the foundation 🟣 Why half of the internet is now created by AI, and what that means for women in tech 🟣 How Maryanne is teaching her six year old daughter to be willful, not quiet, and why that matters 🟣 Why networking as a woman doesn't have to look like the male version, and the WhatsApp group strategy that works 🟣 What Maryanne is doing to stay ahead of the AI era without getting overwhelmed 🟣 The mindset shift from hoping someone will notice your work to making sure the right people know exactly what you bring ___________ If this episode resonated with you, reach out to Maryanne on LinkedIn. Only 13% of women hold C-suite roles in AI, across 27 countries. We're still chasing our tail on the gender pay gap, still fighting for more women in leadership, and now AI is reshaping the entire workforce with women's voices dangerously underrepresented before the wave has even properly started. This episode is for every woman who's applied for AI roles and heard nothing back. For every woman who thinks she's too far behind, or not technical enough, or doesn't have the right experience. For every woman who's kept her head down doing excellent work and hoped that would be enough. It's not enough anymore. The old playbook doesn't work. The women who get chosen for AI roles aren't always the most technical. They're the ones who are visible, connected, and strategic. They understand AI is a people problem, not just a technology problem. Lou and I catch up after a few weeks apart. She's just back from Stanford, where she completed the AI-Powered Organisation course. I'm back from the UK, where I noticed something striking: AI is everywhere. My parents are using it. My nan is using it. And my brother, a professional golfer with zero technical experience, built himself a website using Claude in three hours flat. He then built one for the new owners of his golf club too, made himself impossible to overlook, and he's now in discussions about a promotion. This conversation is about what happens when you stop waiting to feel ready and start positioning yourself for what's next. Why the most successful AI agent at Stanford wasn't built by the most technical person in the room. Why hurt people hurt people, and how Lou handles the trolling that comes with being a woman speaking publicly about AI. And the one mindset shift that changes everything. After 12 years in recruitment, I can tell you this: I have never seen a job market quite like this one. And the women who get chosen aren't the ones waiting for things to settle. They're the ones reading the shift early and positioning themselves before the market does it for them. ___________ ✨ Apply for the 60 Day Bold Move Career Accelerator ✨ Learn more here 👉 https://www.georgiehubbard.com/bold-moves ___________ This episode is for every woman who's been applying for roles and hearing nothing back. For every woman who's wondering why her experience isn't translating into interviews. For every woman who's starting to feel like the old playbook doesn't work anymore. Because it doesn't. The old way was simple: apply online, send your CV, wait for the call. The new way requires something different. You need to be easy to find. Easy to understand. Easy to remember. And easy to choose. In this episode, I break down exactly what's working in the market right now. Why applying online isn't enough. Why your LinkedIn profile needs to be searchable, not just presentable. Why your CV needs to be tailored to every single role, not just updated. And why your network is the most valuable career asset you have, whether you're actively looking or not. I also share the new rules that matter: get explicitly clear on what you want, position yourself for those roles, package yourself correctly on LinkedIn and your CV, activate your network before you need it, and show up visibly so the right people can find you. This isn't about doing more. It's about doing the right things strategically. And if you've been keeping your head down doing excellent work and hoping that's enough, this episode will show you exactly what's missing. ___________ 📚 The Bold Move: https://www.theboldmovebook.com ___________ Connect with Georgie: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️ Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com ___________ Chapters 00:00 The market has changed, and what that means for you 00:23 Why this episode is unfiltered 01:25 Three weeks in the UK, family, and the value of stepping away 03:06 What women have been saying since Georgie got back 03:41 Twelve years recruiting, and a market she has never seen before 04:16 Inside organisations right now: hiring on pause, AI investment, slower decisions 06:34 What used to work, and why it stopped working 06:50 Why your application is not reaching a human 08:33 Rule one: get explicitly clear on what you want next 10:17 Rule two: position yourself for the role you want, not the one you have had 11:22 Rule three: a CV tailored to the job, not your entire history 12:17 Rule four: activate your network before you need it 13:19 Rule five: visibility, and the shift from SEO to AEO 15:16 Easy to find, easy to understand, easy to remember, easy to choose 15:40 The CV test: so what? Fewer roles, more competition, and organisations taking far longer to decide. Clarity comes first. You cannot position yourself for something you have not named. Most women can list what they do not want. Far fewer can say what they do. Your LinkedIn is optimised for the roles you want, not the roles you have had. If it reflects your past, you will keep attracting your past. Every line on your CV has to answer "so what?" Responsibilities are what everyone lists. Outcomes are what get you shortlisted. Build the relationship before you need it. One coffee a week with a recruiter, an old colleague or a former manager. Visibility is an investment, not showing off. Georgie sends to senior women who know they need to get current on AI and have no idea where to start. Don't start with 45. Start with three. Georgie's shortlist — about seven hours all in: 1. Generative AI Explained (NVIDIA) — one hour, no code, free digital badge at the end. The fastest way to stop feeling behind. 2. Career Essentials in Generative AI (Microsoft & LinkedIn) — three to four hours. This certificate posts straight to your LinkedIn profile, where recruiters are actually looking. 3. AI Fluency: Framework & Foundations (Anthropic) — three hours. Built for women who lead teams rather than build things. How to make AI decisions, not how to write code. One honest note: 36 of the 45 are completely free with a certificate. The rest are free to study but charge for the certificate — they're marked on the page. Why this matters more than it sounds like it should This isn't about becoming a data scientist. After 12 years inside recruitment, the pattern Georgie sees is this: the women who get approached for the roles that matter are not the most technical women in the room. They're the most legible ones, the women whose profile makes it obvious, in seconds, that they've kept up. A named certificate does that before anyone has read a single line of your experience. And what to say to get a response from recruiters and hiring managers in minutes, not weeks. One woman inside the program applied this exact framework and landed a role that was never advertised. Another reached out to two connections at a company, got introduced to the hiring manager, and had an interview within days. This works. But only if you do it. Two weeks. That's how long it took Jodie Coomer to go from redundancy to landing her next role. And it wasn't luck. It was visibility. Jodie spent 12 years climbing the ladder the traditional way. Junior business analyst. Project manager. Portfolio manager. Head of delivery. Linear. Logical. Safe. Except safe doesn't exist anymore. And Jodie knows that now. When the redundancy conversation came, she wasn't completely surprised. But that didn't make it easier. Five days of shock. Tears. Imposter syndrome. The feeling that she'd been dumped. And then something shifted. She remembered the work she'd already done. The LinkedIn profile she'd optimised. The recruiter relationships she'd been building. The visibility strategy she'd been quietly putting in place. Two weeks later, she was in a new role. A fixed term contract. Not permanent. And for the first time in her career, that felt like freedom. This episode is about what happens when you stop waiting for the next rung on the ladder and start building a portfolio career instead. It's about why permanent roles aren't safe anymore. It's about the mindset shift from closed to curious. And it's about the one thing that changed everything for Jodie: visibility. Sometimes the most dangerous thing about AI isn't what it can do. It's who gets to decide when to turn it off. Anthropic built the most powerful version of its AI model yet, released it to the public, and then three days later, the US government ordered them to shut it down. Worldwide. For everyone. But here's the twist: the security loop that triggered the shutdown wasn't found by a malicious hacker in a hoodie. It centred around an elegant shift in framing, pointed out by cybersecurity pioneer Katie Moussouri, proving that a simple change in perspective can completely bypass a multi-billion-dollar tech filter. In this episode of AI Ready Women, Georgie and Lou unpack the Anthropic drama, the race to build more powerful AI, and what it all means for women trying to stay ahead in a world where the rules are changing faster than anyone can keep up. This is about control. It's about trust. It's about who gets a say in the future we're building. Now it's here, Lou has read all 42,000 words of it, and the more he reads, the more women he finds inside it. In this episode of AI Ready Women, Georgie and Lou sit down again with Julianne Hickey, social justice leader, AI governance expert, and one of the spokespeople for the encyclical in New Zealand. Julianne has met Pope Francis twice, worked in Gaza and Palestine, and now leads AI strategy for a major government organisation. And she's also done something most of us haven't: she signed up to work for a data labelling company to see what the AI supply chain actually looks like from the inside. What she found was harrowing. And it's the conversation your organisation isn't having. Yet. This episode is about what happens when we stop asking what AI can do, and start asking what it should do. It's about the hidden workers training AI for a few dollars while someone becomes a trillionaire in the same week. It's about the cognitive disarmament of AI. It's about building a civilisation of love, brick by brick. And it's about why the future of AI isn't just a technical question. Sometimes the boldest move is the one you don't announce. The one you make for yourself, not for the algorithm. Eight weeks ago, I left Melbourne. I moved to Queensland. I bought a house. I didn't post about it. I didn't share it on social media. I just did it. And it was one of the hardest, most clarifying decisions I've made in years. This episode is different. It's personal. It's unfiltered. And it's about what happens when your body starts sending you signals that something isn't right, even when everything on paper looks like it's working. I'm recording this from an empty room, sitting on a camp chair, in my new home in Queensland. And I'm sharing the full story of why I left the city, what I learned about values, alignment, and listening to yourself before burnout makes the decision for you. If you've ever felt out of alignment with where you are, even when you can't quite explain why, this one's for you. ____________ ✨ 60 Day Bold Move Career Accelerator ✨ Learn more here 👉 https://www.georgiehubbard.com/bold-moves ____________ 📚 The Bold Move: https://www.theboldmovebook.com ____________ Connect with Georgie: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️ Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com ____________ In This Episode: 🟣 Why I moved to Melbourne CBD after finishing The Bold Move — and why it was exactly the right decision at the time 🟣 The moment I realised the city energy was no longer serving me, and how my body started sending signals before my mind caught up 🟣 The values exercise that changed everything — health, freedom, and growth — and why living out of alignment with them became impossible to ignore 🟣 How I could stand there teaching clarity and values inside the Bold Moves Career Accelerator while I wasn't living aligned with my own 🟣 Why I kept the entire move off social media — and what that taught me about making decisions for yourself, not for external validation 🟣 Why "peace is productive" became my new measure of a good decision — and how feeling calm and aligned made me more effective, not less 🟣 The one regret from The Five Regrets of the Dying that shapes every bold move I make — and the question I asked when I doubted everything: "would I regret not doing this?" 🟣 What happens when you finally listen to the quiet voice that's been trying to get your attention for months 🟣 Why the bold move isn't always the loud one. The question we all need to ask all the time is: who's missing? Whose voice is not currently represented? AI is reshaping the world. And while the headlines swing between hype and fear, most women are asking just one question: What does this mean for me? This episode is about what happens when AI makes decisions about people's lives and nobody can explain why. It's about accountability. It's about bias. And it's about governance, not as a handbrake, but as the thing that lets us move faster, safely. In this episode of AI Ready Women, Georgie and Lou sit down with Luli Adeyemo, Executive Director of Tech Diversity Foundation, award winning leader with over 30 years in tech, and former BMX world champion. Luli has spent her career asking one question: who's in the room when decisions get made? And right now, when it comes to AI governance, women's voices are dangerously underrepresented. That's not just unfair. It's risky. And it's costing us all. This is the conversation your organisation isn't having. Is AI actually a threat to your career — or are you just not reading your market clearly? Here's the 4-question SCAN framework I use with senior women to find out. ⤵️ Most women think the AI threat is whether your job will get automated. But for senior women, women who have spent 15 to 20 years building real experience, that could be the wrong question. A better question: Am I reading my market clearly enough, or am I the last to know that something shifted? After 12 years inside my recruitment business, I can tell you this: the women who get caught off guard are never the least capable ones. They're the ones who were too head down doing excellent work to look up and read what the market was asking for. 👇 Want the scan done FOR you? See exactly where you're exposed and where to position. ⚒️ Scan Tool: https://www.georgiehubbard.com/scan-audit ____________ ⏱️ CHAPTERS 0:00 – The wrong question senior women are asking about AI 0:50 – Why the most capable women get caught off guard 2:15 – Internal feedback vs. market intelligence 3:30 – S: Skills in Demand 5:30 – C: Change Coming 7:15 – A: AI Impact (your "AI-irreplaceable" layer) 9:30 – N: New Problems Emerging 11:15 – The 30-minute SCAN exercise 12:45 – Get your free real-time SCAN ____________ The SCAN Framework: your 4-question career audit for the age of AI: S – Skills in Demand How closely does your current skillset match what employers are actually asking for in roles at your level right now? Not 12 months ago. Now. C – Change Coming How clearly can you see where your function is heading over the next 2-3 years, and what does that mean for someone at your level? A – AI Impact Which parts of your role could AI do adequately right now? And which parts genuinely still require your judgment, your relationships, and your lived experience? N – New Problems Emerging Are you positioning yourself to solve the new problems your industry is now facing? Or are you still primarily known for solving the old ones? ____________ Your Next Step: Before you close this video, open a blank document and write down the four letters: S-C-A-N. Next to S, write down three skills or capability phrases that keep appearing in roles at your level. Ask yourself: do they appear on your LinkedIn profile? Next to C, write down one sentence on where your function is heading in the next few years. If you can't write a sentence, there's a gap. Next to A, write down your three AI-irreplaceable value points. The things you bring that AI cannot replicate. Next to N, write down one new problem emerging in your industry, and one way your existing experience connects to it. That's your SCAN framework. It will take less than 30 minutes and it will tell you more about where you're exposed than any amount of generic career advice ever could. ____________ ✨ 60 Day Bold Move Career Accelerator ✨ Learn more here 👉 https://www.georgiehubbard.com/bold-moves ____________ 📚 The Bold Move: https://www.theboldmovebook.com ____________ Connect with Georgie: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️ Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com ____________ This is not about fear. This is about being the woman who reads her market clearly before the market has to read it for her. The bold move is not a big dramatic career pivot. It's something quieter and harder. It's the decision to stop operating on the assumption that doing excellent work inside your organisation is sufficient. You need to look up from your desk deliberately, regularly, and read what the market around you is actually asking for. This is how you stay relevant — and chosen — in the age of AI. The women I watch get chosen repeatedly across their careers are not always the most experienced. They're the ones who have the clearest market intelligence. That's available to you. And you can start right now. Georgie 💜
The Pope just signed his first encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas, and it's about AI. His warning to the world: protect the human person before artificial intelligence erodes our work, our relationships, and our agency While tech companies race to build agents and automate everything, the Vatican did something unexpected. It created a commission on AI, not to celebrate the technology, but to protect human dignity. And when Pope Leo XIV presented the document, he did it standing beside a co-founder of the AI company Anthropic. What an unexpected twist. So what does this actually mean for women navigating AI at work right now? In this episode of AI Ready Women, Georgie and Lou sit down with Julianne Hickey, a social justice leader, AI governance expert, and former director of Caritas Aotearoa New Zealand. Julianne has met Pope Francis twice, worked in Gaza and Palestine responding to humanitarian disasters, and now leads AI strategy for a major government organisation in New Zealand. Most ambitious women haven't touched their LinkedIn profile in years — and then wonder why opportunities aren't coming their way. They think they need to post more, apply more, hustle harder. But that's not the problem. After 12 years in recruitment, reviewing thousands of profiles, I can tell you: recruiters can't find you. And when they do, your profile is telling them the wrong story. In this episode, I'm showing you the 4 signals that actually determine whether you show up in recruiter searches, and what to do when you don't. By the end, you'll know exactly how to check your own LinkedIn visibility score in 60 seconds. ____________ 🔵 LinkedIn Visibility Tool Find Out Why Recruiters Scroll Past You 👉 https://www.georgiehubbard.com/linkedin-audit ____________ ✨Grab the Book 📚 The Bold Move: https://www.theboldmovebook.com ____________ Connect with Me: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com 🌀Pivotr: https://www.pivotr.com ____________ What You'll Discover: 🟣 Why your LinkedIn profile is probably working against you, and how to fix it before it costs you your next opportunity. 🟣 The 4 LinkedIn Signals Framework: Clarity, Keywords, Signal, and Delivery. What they are, why they matter, and which ones you're most likely missing. 🟣 Signal #1: Clarity. Does your profile immediately communicate who you are and what you do? Not just your job title or company, but your actual value. 🟣 Signal #2: Keywords. Does your profile contain the language that recruiters are actually searching for? Why internal jargon and company specific titles are making you invisible. 🟣 Signal #3: Signal. Does your profile communicate the seniority level you're targeting? Why your profile needs to be written for the role you want, not the role you have. 🟣 Signal #4: Delivery. Does your profile say what you deliver, not just what you do? The difference between describing tasks and demonstrating impact. 🟣 Why 80% of profiles fail the visibility test, and how to know if yours is one of them. 🟣 The real story of a senior woman with 15 years of experience who hadn't heard from a recruiter in over a year. What was wrong with her profile, what we changed, and why two recruiters reached out within three weeks. 🟣 How to access the free LinkedIn Visibility Tool that scores your profile across the 4 signal framework and gives you a personalised diagnosis in under 60 seconds. 🟣 The three questions you need to ask yourself right now to know if your LinkedIn profile is holding you back. 🟣 Why this isn't about capability, it's about packaging. And packaging is fixable. ____________ Open your LinkedIn right now. Look at your headline. Ask yourself: Does it say what I deliver or just what I do? If a recruiter searched for someone like me, would these words come up? Does this sound like the level I'm ready for, or the level I'm at? If you answered no to any of those questions, your profile is probably working against you. And the good news is, it's fixable. Use the free LinkedIn Visibility Tool in the link below. Paste in your headline and the first few sentences of your about section, and get your personalised diagnosis in under 60 seconds. The right opportunities are out there for you. But if your profile isn't visible to the people making the decisions, they will never reach you. You are not behind. You are just under-positioned. And we can fix that. Georgie 💜
If you're not positioned correctly on LinkedIn, no good about section, no optimised title, you will not come up. And that means you do not exist in the job market. The way we're discovered has changed overnight. And most women haven't been told. In this episode, Georgie and Lou Compagnone sit down with tech pioneer and futurist Melissa Clark-Reynolds, who's been working in AI since the 1980s, to discuss the invisible crisis unfolding right now for women in the workforce. AI is already deciding who gets seen, who gets hired, and who gets left behind. This conversation is about making sure it's not you. ____________ 🟣 Want to Work With Me? AI salaries are 56% higher than the average. The demand is real. The opportunity is now. But women are being left behind. While companies are scrambling to hire AI talent and paying premium salaries, only 22% of AI roles are held by women. And the gap is widening. Here's what nobody's telling you: this isn't just about learning a tool. It's about positioning yourself for the most in-demand, highest-paid roles that are being created right now. You've got the experience. You've got the skills. You've put in the years. But here's the uncomfortable truth: if you're not actively positioning yourself for the future, you're quietly becoming invisible. If you're a mid to senior career woman with 15+ years of experience, there's a high chance you're playing smaller than you think. And I say that with love. I've spent 12 years in recruitment, and I've seen time and time again how incredibly capable women quietly hold themselves back. Not because they lack talent, but because of habits that feel responsible but end up costing them promotions, influence, and long term leverage. Women make up nearly half of the workforce, but at senior leadership level, that number drops dramatically. Globally, women hold roughly a third of senior management roles. And at CEO level? Under 10% in many markets. Here's what's keeping me up at night: men are applying for promotions when they meet around 60% of the criteria. Women wait until they meet all of it. And that gap compounds over time. Then you add AI into the mix. The World Economic Forum projects that millions of roles will be reshaped by automation in the next few years, and many of the most AI exposed roles are functions where women are heavily represented. This isn't about confidence. It's about making sure that as the market shifts, and it is shifting fast, you are not accidentally falling behind because of habits that once felt safe. The women who rise in the next era won't just be the hardest working. They'll be the most strategic. And the gap between strategic and reactive widens quickly. ____________ 🟣 Want to Work With Me? Only 22% of AI roles are held by women. Only 18% of AI researchers are women. Only 14% of senior executive roles in AI are held by women. If women aren't in the room, we're not shaping the future. And if we're not part of the conversation now, we're going to be left behind. Again. This is the first episode of a brand new series called AI Ready Women, where I sit down with Lou Compagnone, Director of Artificial Intelligence at Datacom, to talk about the signals you need to be paying attention to, what's happening in AI right now, and what it actually means for you. I've seen how patterns repeat. And I refuse to let it happen again with AI. This is the most important technology shift of our lifetime. And if we're not part of it, we will be left behind. Not because we're not capable. But because we've been programmed to think it's not for us. This series is about changing that narrative. 40% of Block's workforce. Gone. Just like that. This isn't a headline from the future. This happened this week. And the reason? AI. In the same week, Wise Tech Global laid off 2000 staff, and if you think this is isolated, you're not paying attention. This is the signal. This is the wake-up call. And if you're still playing by the old rules, sending generic CVs, waiting to be chosen, relying on outdated strategies, you will get left behind. But here's the truth: AI doesn't have to take your job. Not if you start positioning yourself correctly. Not if you start packaging yourself for the future. Not if you start building visibility and leverage now, before you need it. In this episode, I'm breaking down the exact strategies you need to future-proof your career in the age of AI. AI is reshaping every industry. Job security is no longer about tenure or experience. It's about positioning, visibility, and strategic career control. And if you don't have a clear framework for navigating this shift, you'll spend the next decade reacting instead of directing your career. In this episode, I'm breaking down the exact blueprint I use to help professionals take back control of their careers in 2026 and beyond. This is the new operating system for career success, and it's built on three pillars that determine whether your career grows or stalls. ____________ 🟣 Want to Work With Me? The complete framework for staying ahead in the age of AI and ensuring opportunities come to you instead of you chasing them. 🟣 Pillar 1: Attract – How to become a magnet for the right opportunities through clarity, identity, and strategic networking. Why 85% of jobs are never advertised—and how to access them. 🟣 Pillar 2: Position – Why experience is no longer enough. How to craft a compelling story, build your own IP, and package yourself so you stand out in a crowded market. 🟣 Pillar 3: Scale – How to grow your career without burning out. Building a personal brand, creating systems and boundaries, and developing influence that creates impact. ____________ Why This Episode Matters: If you feel stuck, uncertain, or quietly anxious about the future, this episode will give you the clarity, confidence, and choice you need to take back control. This isn't about working harder. It's about positioning yourself strategically so growth feels aligned, not exhausting. This is the roadmap for navigating the most disruptive period we've ever lived through. AI is replacing jobs. The headlines are terrifying. And if you're in the middle of your career right now, you might be wondering: Am I next? Amazon just laid off 16,000 people. Tech companies are slashing roles left and right. Job descriptions are changing every two weeks. And the one phrase you keep hearing over and over again is: AI. But here's what nobody's telling you: it's not that AI is replacing humans. It's that mid-career professionals who refuse to adapt are being left behind. Welcome back to Career Confidence, where today I'm sitting down with Lou Compagnoni, Director of Artificial Intelligence at Datacom, to talk about what's actually happening in AI right now—and what it means for your career. This isn't fear-mongering. This isn't doom and gloom. This is a brutally honest conversation about the signals you need to be paying attention to, the mindset shifts you need to make, and how to stop reacting to disruption and start becoming the architect of your own future. ____________ ✨Order The Bold Move✨ 📚 The Bold Move: https://www.theboldmovebook.com ____________ Connect with Me: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com 🌀Pivotr: https://www.pivotr.com ____________ Connect with Lou Compagnone: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/loucompagnone/ ____________ Timestamps: 0:00 Introduction: AI Ready Women Series Launch 1:12 The Current State of AI: Mixed Feelings in the Marketplace 4:54 Amazon Layoffs and AI: What’s Really Happening? 7:04 Key Signals to Watch: Language Shifts and Cognitive Debt 9:16 How to Use AI Without Losing Your Creative Edge 14:13 Women and AI: Overcoming the 'Cheating' Mindset 14:53 Who’s Most at Risk? You mapped your time. You identified your skills. You built your support system. But here's what nobody tells you: the moment you commit to change, everything inside you will fight to pull you back. The doubt will get louder. The fear will feel heavier. And on the hardest days, it's going to be so easy to quit. To retreat back into the comfort of who you used to be. To fall back into the old habits, the old beliefs, the safe job that brings no joy but feels familiar. Welcome to the Bonus Week of The Bold Move Challenge, where we're talking about the part of transformation nobody wants to discuss: the messy middle. The bold gap. The space between where you are and where you want to be. And why this is exactly where resilience is built. ____________ ✨Order The Bold Move✨ 📚 The Bold Move: https://www.theboldmovebook.com ____________ Connect with Me: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com 🌀Pivotr: https://www.pivotr.com ____________ What You'll Discover 🟣 The Bold Gap: What happens in the space between where you are and where you want to be, and why most people give up right before the breakthrough. 🟣 You're Going to Come Up Against Yourself: Every time you step outside your comfort zone, doubt and fear will show up. This isn't a sign you're failing. It's a sign you're growing. 🟣 Why Change Feels So Hard: If change was easy, everyone would be living their dream life. But it's not. And that's exactly why it's worth it. 🟣 The Comfort Zone Trap: How easy it is to fall back into old habits, old beliefs, and old versions of yourself when the path forward feels uncertain. 🟣 The Regret Test: Would you regret not doing this? Would you look back in a year, five years, ten years and wish you'd kept going? Use this question to guide your decisions. 🟣 Resilience is Built in the Struggle: It's in those moments when you want to quit—when you choose to take one more step—that your strength and character are forged. 🟣 One Percent Better: You don't have to be perfect. You just have to be one percent better than you were yesterday. One more rep. One more day. One more step forward. 🟣 Check In With Yourself: Are you falling back into old patterns? Are you giving your time and energy to things that don't matter? Keep reconnecting to your why. 🟣 The Messy Middle is Where Growth Lives: On the other side of discomfort is the person you're working to become. Don't turn back now. ____________ Why This Episode Matters: I couldn't end this challenge without preparing you for what's coming. Because the truth is, any time you go for more, more freedom, more impact, more confidence, more joy—you're going to face resistance. Internal resistance. Doubt. Fear. Imposter syndrome. All of it. And if you're not prepared for that, it's so easy to quit. To convince yourself it's too hard. To fall back into what feels safe. But I'm asking you not to do that. Because the person you're becoming on the other side of this discomfort is worth fighting for. And the life you're building is worth the struggle. ____________ Your Bonus Week Challenge: ✨ Acknowledge the messy middle: Understand that change is hard. Expect the doubt. Expect the fear. And keep going anyway. ✨ Reconnect to your why: When doubt gets loud, go back to your why. Why did you start this? What are you working towards? Who are you becoming? ✨ Check in with yourself: Are you falling back into old habits? Are you giving your time and energy to the right things? Keep course-correcting. ✨ Take one more step: You don't have to have it all figured out. You just have to take one more step. One percent better than yesterday. ✨ Build your resilience muscle: This is where your strength is built. In the struggle. In the discomfort. In the moments when you choose to keep going. ____________ Join the Movement: If you've been part of this challenge, I want to hear from you. What's been your biggest takeaway? What are you looking forward to? What do you think is going to hold you back—and how are you going to overcome it? Drop a comment below, message me on LinkedIn, Instagram, or TikTok and tell me: What's one thing you're not giving up on this year? And if you haven't grabbed a copy of The Bold Move yet, now is the time. Everything we've covered in this challenge—and so much more—is in the book. It's your roadmap for navigating the bold gap and building the resilience you need to keep going. Thank you for showing up. Thank you for doing the work. Thank you for being part of this community. The messy middle is where the magic happens. Don't turn back now. Georgie 💜
You mapped your time. You identified your skills. You committed to the identity shift. But you can't make bold moves alone. You were never meant to. Success isn't just about what you know or what you do. It's about who's in your corner when doubt gets loud. It's about who lifts you up when you're questioning everything. It's about who reminds you of your worth when you've forgotten it yourself. Welcome to Week 4 of The Bold Move Challenge, where we're getting intentional about the people we surround ourselves with, and building a support system that actually supports your boldest moves. ____________ ✨Order The Bold Move✨ 📚 The Bold Move: https://www.theboldmovebook.com ____________ Connect with Me: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com 🌀Pivotr: https://www.pivotr.com ____________ What You'll Discover in Week 4: 🟣 The Power of Your Inner Circle: Why the people you surround yourself with will either accelerate your growth or keep you stuck, and how to identify who's who. 🟣 You Can't Do This Alone: We're not meant to sit in isolation. Human connection is what will separate success from struggle as the world becomes more digital and AI-driven. 🟣 Who Lifts You Up?: I walk you through how to identify the people in your life who energise you, inspire you, and make you feel more confident, and how to spend more intentional time with them. 🟣 The Gratitude Gap: Who are you taking for granted? Who's been quietly cheering you on that you haven't acknowledged or appreciated? This week is about showing up for the people who show up for you. 🟣 Don't Wait Until You Need Them: Most people only engage their network when they're desperate. I'm teaching you how to build genuine relationships before you need them. 🟣 Beyond Your Immediate Circle: Your support system isn't just the people you can call. It's the podcasters, authors, coaches, and influencers who inspire you from a distance. Who are they? And how can you surround yourself with their energy? 🟣 Be a Giver, Not Just a Taker: You have value to bring. How can you support the people in your corner? How can you lift them up the way they lift you? This is about reciprocity, not just networking. 🟣 Build Your Network with Intention: If you don't have a strong support system right now, that's okay. I share exactly how to start building one—through networking events, online communities, and putting yourself in rooms with like-minded people. 🟣 The Difference Between Giving Up and Keeping Going: When doubt gets loud, your support system is what keeps you moving forward. This is why it matters. This is why you can't skip this step. ____________ Your Week 4 Challenge: ✨ Write down your support system: Who are the people in your life who lift you up? Who energises you? Who inspires you? Make a list of your cheerleaders. ✨ Reach out to someone you've been taking for granted: Send a message. Make a call. Show gratitude. Let them know you appreciate them. ✨ Identify who's outside your immediate circle: Who are the podcasters, authors, coaches, or influencers who inspire you? Follow them. Listen to them. Read their work. Surround yourself with their energy. ✨ Think about how you can give back: What value can you bring to your network? How can you support the people who support you? Relationships are a two-way street. ✨ If your network is small, start building it: Join a community. Attend a networking event. Put yourself in rooms with like-minded people. Your support system won't build itself. ____________ Join the Movement: If you're committing to this week's challenge, I want to hear from you. Comment below, message me on LinkedIn, Instagram, or TikTok and tell me: Who's one person in your corner that you're grateful for? And how are you going to show them appreciation this week? Use the hashtag #BoldMoveChallenge and let's celebrate the people who lift us up. And here's a little secret: Today was supposed to be the end of the Bold Move Challenge. But I have a sneaky surprise coming next week. A bonus episode that's going to round off this challenge beautifully and set you up for success. So stay tuned. Because we're not done yet. Georgie 💜
You mapped your time. You protected your glass balls. You committed to the habits that matter. But here's the shift that changes everything: you are not your job title. You never were. The future of work isn't about what you're called. It's about what you can do. And if you're still tying your identity to a title on LinkedIn or a role that could disappear tomorrow, you're building your confidence on shaky ground. Welcome to Week 3 of The Bold Move Challenge, where we're reframing everything you thought you knew about your worth, and teaching you to see yourself the way companies already do: as a set of skills, not a title. ____________ ✨Order The Bold Move✨ 📚 The Bold Move: https://www.theboldmovebook.com ____________ Connect with Me: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com 🌀Pivotr: https://www.pivotr.com ____________ What You'll Discover in Week 3: 🟣 The Identity Trap: Why tying your worth to your job title is keeping you stuck—and how to break free from that restrictive mindset. 🟣 You Are a Set of Skills: Companies don't hire titles anymore. They hire problem-solvers, communicators, leaders, and thinkers. I show you exactly how to identify and articulate your unique skill set. 🟣 The Skills Audit: What are you actually great at? What do people come to you for? What makes you you? This week's exercise will help you map out every skill and strength you've accumulated—and it's a massive confidence boost. 🟣 Human Skills Are Your Superpower: AI can do the technical grunt work. But it can't replicate empathy, creativity, conflict resolution, or your unique perspective. These are the skills that will future-proof your career. 🟣 Beyond the Job Title: Whether you're a lawyer, teacher, recruiter, or software engineer, you're so much more than that. I walk you through how to reframe your identity and see yourself as a portfolio of strengths. 🟣 Outcomes Over Titles: It's not about what you're called. It's about what you've delivered. Have you shipped projects ahead of time? Calmed difficult customers? Led teams through change? These are the stories that matter. 🟣 Introducing Pivotr: Want to see where your skills could take you next? I've built a tool that maps your strengths to new career opportunities—and it's designed to give you clarity, confidence, and options. 🟣 Monetise Your Skills: If you've ever thought about a side hustle, a new business, or a career pivot—this is where it starts. You can't monetise what you don't understand. So let's get crystal clear on your value. ____________ Your Week 3 Challenge: ✨ Write down your skills and strengths: What are you great at? What do people come to you for? What makes you unique? Write as many as you can—technical, human, tangible, intangible. All of it counts. ✨ Map your outcomes: What have you delivered? What impact have you made? What results have you achieved? These are the stories that prove your value. ✨ Explore your options: Visit Pivotr and input your skills. See where they could take you next. Whether it's a new role, a side hustle, or a complete pivot—this tool will show you what's possible. ✨ Keep adding to your list: As you go through the week, keep adding skills and strengths. The more you write, the more you'll realise just how much value you bring. ✨ Share your strengths: Comment below, message me on LinkedIn, Instagram, or TikTok and tell me: What are two skills or strengths you're proud of? Let's celebrate what makes you unique. ____________ Join the Movement: If you're committing to this week's challenge, I want to hear from you. Use the hashtag #BoldMoveChallenge and share your skills, your strengths, and your confidence wins. Because the more you own your value, the more unstoppable you become. Week 4 is coming next, and we're diving into your support systems—the people who lift you up, challenge you, and help you grow. But for now, focus on you. Focus on your skills. Focus on your strengths. Because you are not just a job title. You are so much more than that. Georgie 💜
You wrote your Stop Doing List. You identified the bold version of you. You committed to the identity shift. But here's the truth: intentions don't create change. Scheduling does. You can have the clearest vision in the world, but if you don't protect your time and energy like your career depends on it—nothing shifts. You stay stuck in the same cycle: overwhelmed, overworked, and still not making progress on the things that actually matter. Welcome to Week 2 of The Bold Move Challenge, where we're getting brutally honest about where your time is really going—and how to take it back. ____________ ✨Order The Bold Move✨ 📚 The Bold Move: https://www.theboldmovebook.com ____________ Connect with Me: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com 🌀Pivotr: https://www.pivotr.com ____________ What You'll Discover in Week 2: 🟣 The Three Balls Framework: Glass balls, bouncy balls, and concrete balls. I break down exactly which parts of your life deserve your energy—and which ones are quietly draining you dry. 🟣 Glass Balls: These are the non-negotiables. Family. Career growth. Health. Personal development. If you drop these, they crack. And eventually, they shatter. It's time to stop treating them like optional extras. 🟣 Bouncy Balls: The emails. The WhatsApp groups. The laundry. The endless to-do list that never actually moves your life forward. These balls bounce back up. So why are you spending so much time juggling them? 🟣 Concrete Balls: The obligations that weigh you down. The people who drain your energy. The commitments that bring you zero joy. These need to go. Completely. 🟣 What Doesn't Get Scheduled Doesn't Get Done: Your calendar is your boss. If those things on your Start Doing List aren't in your diary, they won't happen. Period. I walk you through exactly how to schedule your glass balls first—and protect them fiercely. 🟣 Energy Management Over Time Management: We all have 24 hours. But we don't all have the same energy. I show you how to stop wasting your best energy on bouncy balls and start investing it in what actually matters. 🟣 The 60-Day Habit Rule: It takes 60 days to build a new habit. Not 21. Not 30. Sixty. So if you want that morning meditation, that gym session, that upskilling time to stick—you need to commit for the next two months. 🟣 Find the Cracks in Your Day: You don't need to add more hours to your day. You just need to use the ones you already have more intentionally. Commute time. Lunch breaks. The 10 minutes before bed. I share exactly how to plug these gaps with growth. 🟣 You're Not Selfish for Prioritising Yourself: You're strategic. You can be grateful and still hungry. You can love your life and still want more. This is the balance we're mastering together. ____________ Why This Week Matters: Last week, you identified who you need to become. This week, you're making space for her to show up. Because the bold version of you doesn't squeeze self-care into the leftover minutes of her day. She doesn't wait until everything else is done to focus on her growth. She schedules her glass balls first—and everything else fits around them. This is about designing your life, not just surviving it. This is about protecting your energy like it's your most valuable asset—because it is. ____________ Your Week 2 Challenge: ✨ Identify your three balls: Write down your glass balls, bouncy balls, and concrete balls. Get honest about where your time is really going. ✨ Open your calendar: Schedule in your Start Doing List. Every single thing. If it's not in your diary, it won't happen. ✨ Commit for 60 days: Pick one habit from your Start Doing List and commit to it for the next two months. No excuses. No negotiations. ✨ Ask for help: What can you outsource? What can you delegate? Where can you create more space in your life? Don't be afraid to ask. ✨ Protect your glass balls: These are your non-negotiables. Schedule them first. Protect them fiercely. Everything else fits around them. ____________ Join the Movement: If you're committing to this week's challenge, I want to hear from you. Drop a comment below, send me a message on LinkedIn, Instagram, or TikTok and tell me: What's one glass ball you're protecting this week? And what's one bouncy ball you're letting go? Use the hashtag #BoldMoveChallenge and let's make 2026 the year we stop juggling everything—and start prioritising what actually matters. Week 3 is coming next, and we're diving into confidence. The real kind. The kind that comes from seeing yourself as a set of skills, not just a job title. Let's go. Georgie 💜
Goals are great. But if you're still writing the same New Year's resolutions you've written for the last five years, let's be honest—they're not working. This isn't about motivation. It's not about working harder or adding more to your already overflowing plate. This is about something far more powerful: identity shift. Because the truth is, you will never achieve your goals if you don't become the person who's capable of achieving them first. Welcome to Week 1 of The Bold Move Challenge—a four-week journey where I'm taking you through the exact formula I use every single year to set myself up for success. And I'm not talking about surface-level goal-setting. I'm talking about getting crystal clear on who you need to stop being and who you need to start becoming if you want 2026 to be your biggest, boldest year yet. ____________ ✨Order The Bold Move✨ 📚 The Bold Move: https://www.theboldmovebook.com ____________ Connect with Me: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com 🌀Pivotr: https://www.pivotr.com ____________ What You'll Discover in Week 1: 🟣 The Stop Doing List: Before you add one more thing to your life, you need to let go. I walk you through exactly how to identify what's holding you back—the habits, the thoughts, the patterns that no longer serve the person you're becoming. 🟣 The Start Doing List: Once you've cleared the clutter, it's time to get intentional. What does the bold, brave, best version of you actually do every single day? How does she start her morning? How does she show up? What energy does she bring into the room? 🟣 The Identity Shift: This is where the magic happens. You can have all the motivation in the world, but if you don't shift your identity—if you don't change who you believe you are—nothing changes. I'm showing you exactly how to step into the version of you that makes your goals inevitable. 🟣 Why Dopamine Loops Are Killing Your Progress: I'm getting brutally honest about my own struggles with phone addiction, social media checking, and tying my worth to metrics I can't control. If you've ever felt trapped in the refresh cycle, this will hit home. 🟣 How to Feel Your Way to Success: It's not just about what you do or who you become—it's about how you want to feel every single day. When you lead with energy and emotion, motivation follows. ____________ Why This Challenge Is Different: Most goal-setting exercises ask you to dream bigger. This challenge asks you to become different. Because the version of you that got you here won't get you there. And if you keep trying to change your life without changing yourself, you'll stay stuck in the same cycle—same habits, same results, same frustration. This is about breaking that cycle. This is about stepping into a new identity with new beliefs, new habits, and new energy. This is about making 2026 the year everything shifts—not because you worked harder, but because you became her. ____________ Your Week 1 Challenge: ✨ Write your Stop Doing List: What habits, thoughts, and patterns are you leaving behind? What no longer belongs in your future? ✨ Write your Start Doing List: What does the bold version of you do every single day? Get specific. Get intentional. ✨ Create your new identity: Who is she? How does she walk, talk, and show up? What does her morning look like? What energy does she bring? ✨ Write a letter to your future self: Seal it up and open it at the end of the challenge (or the end of the year). Tell her who you're becoming and how you want to feel. ____________ Join the Movement: If you're in for the challenge, I want to hear from you. Drop a comment below, send me a message on LinkedIn, Instagram, or TikTok and tell me: What's one thing you're going to stop doing? And what's one thing you're going to start? Use the hashtag #BoldMoveChallenge and let's make 2026 our best year yet—together. This is just the beginning. Week 2 is coming, and we're going deeper. Let's go. Georgie 💜
Before we rush into 2026, let's pause. Just for a moment. This week isn't about hustle. It's not about goal-setting or productivity hacks or forcing yourself into a new year with old energy. It's about rest. It's about gratitude. It's about giving yourself permission to slow down and breathe. In this short but intentional episode, I'm inviting you to do something radical: nothing. Well, almost nothing. Just rest, recharge, and get ready—because next week, we're doing something I've never done before. ____________ ✨Order The Bold Move✨ 📚 The Bold Move: https://www.theboldmovebook.com ____________ Connect with Me: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com 🌀Pivotr: https://www.pivotr.com ____________ What's Coming: The Bold Move Challenge Starting next week, I'm launching something brand new: The Bold Move Challenge. This isn't your typical goal-setting exercise. This is the exact formula I use to set myself up for success every single year—and I've never shared it publicly before. We're going to get crystal clear on what you want, why you want it, and how you're going to make it happen. We're going to set intentions that actually stick. We're going to make 2026 the biggest, boldest, best year yet. And I'm taking you with me, step by step. ____________ How to Prepare: If you've already grabbed a copy of The Bold Move, this is the perfect week to read it (or at least flick through it). The challenge will be deeply connected to the themes in the book, so familiarizing yourself with the content will set you up for success. If you don't have the book yet, don't stress—you can still participate. But having it will definitely help. It's available in bookshops across Australia, on Kindle, and as an audiobook. ____________ Why Rest Matters: Every time I've rushed into a new year without taking a proper break, I've started in the wrong energy. Frantic. Forcing. Disconnected. And that's not the vibe we're bringing into 2026. So this week, I want you to breathe. Lean into the festive season. Feel the gratitude. Reset. Refresh. Recharge. Because next week, we're going all in. ____________ Join Me: If you're in for the challenge, let me know! Send me a message on LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, or drop a comment below saying "I'm in." Use the hashtag #BoldMove and let's make 2026 our best year yet—together. Have a beautiful, restful week. You deserve it. Georgie 💜
Before we rush headfirst into 2026, let's pause. Just for a moment. This has been a year. A big, messy, emotional, transformative year. And if you're feeling like 2025 tested you in ways you didn't expect—you're not alone. Every woman I've spoken to in recent weeks has said the same thing: this year hit different. In this short but heartfelt episode, I'm taking a moment to slow down, reflect, and express my deepest gratitude for you. For showing up. For listening. For being part of this community. Over the next few weeks, I'll be putting together a reset challenge—something I'm doing for myself, and I want you to join me. It's about starting 2026 with intention, clarity, and energy. More details coming in next week's episode. ____________ A Message Just for You: If you've grabbed a copy of The Bold Move and you're reading it over the break, I'd love to hear from you. Shoot me a message on LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, or email me directly. Tell me what's resonating. Tell me what you're taking away. I read every single message. Thank you for being here. Thank you for trusting me with your time, your career, and your growth. I'm so grateful for this community, and I can't wait to show you what we have planned for 2026. Have a beautiful, restful, joyful Christmas. You deserve it. Georgie 💜
Women are leaving tech in droves. And according to gender equity expert Emma Jones, this couldn't be happening at a worse time. We're standing at the edge of the AI revolution, the biggest workplace transformation in history, and women are walking away from the very sector that will define the next decade of work. Not because they can't do the job. Not because they lack the skills. But because the system was never designed for them in the first place. In this raw and urgent conversation, I sit down with Emma Jones, founder of Project F and creator of T-EDI Standards (Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Standards for the Technology Sector). Emma has spent over 25 years in technology talent acquisition, working across the UK, US, and Australia, and she's seen firsthand how systemic bias quietly pushes women out of the industry, no matter how talented, driven, or passionate they are. ____________ ✨The Bold Move: Build Confidence & Re-Invent Your Career in the Age of AI✨ 📚 The Bold Move: https://www.theboldmovebook.com ____________ Connect with Georgie: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com 🌀Pivotr: https://www.pivotr.com ____________ Connect with Emma: 🔵 LinkedIn: Find Emma Jones: https://www.linkedin.com/in/msjonesinsydney/ ♦️Project F: https://www.projectf.com.au/ 🟣 T-EDI Standards: https://www.tedistandards.com/ ____________ In today’s episode: 🟣 The 1967 Study That Changed Everything: How one flawed research report created the "nerdy guy" stereotype and locked women out of tech for decades. 🟣 It's Not a Pipeline Problem—It's a Drop-Off Crisis: Why women aren't failing to enter tech; they're leaving mid-career because workplaces aren't designed for them to thrive. 🟣 The First Female Engineer Story: Emma shares the heartbreaking moment a talented woman thought she was only hired because she was female—and what that revealed about systemic barriers. 🟣 AI is the Reset We've Been Waiting For: Why women's hesitation around AI isn't weakness—it's wisdom. Most people think they have until 2030 to figure out AI. According to AI expert Kara Bombell, you might already be too late. The corporate game is over. Job security is dead. And if you're still clinging to your role title instead of building your skill set, you're at serious risk. The era of "work hard, keep your head down, and get promoted" has been replaced by something far more volatile—and far more opportunity-rich for those who act now. In this episode, I sit down with Kara Bombell, co-founder of Ethic AI, who went from COO of a major digital agency to building her own business at the frontlines of the AI revolution. Kara doesn't sugarcoat it: 95% of enterprise organisations are failing at AI implementation, entire management layers are about to collapse, and the women who wait will be left behind. ____________ ✨Pre-Order The Bold Move✨ 📚 The Bold Move: https://www.theboldmovebook.com ____________ Connect with Georgie: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/georgiehubbard/ 🟪 Instagram: http://instagram.com/georgielhubbard ♦️Website: https://www.georgiehubbard.com 🌀Pivotr: https://www.pivotr.com ____________ Connect with Kara: 🔵 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kara-bombell/ 🤖 Ethic AI: https://www.ethicai.au/ ____________ ✨ What You'll Discover: 🟣 Why Corporate Stability is Over: The loyalty-for-security contract has been ripped up. Kara explains why "job hugging" won't save you and what to do instead. 🟣 The Skills That Will Survive: It's not about learning to code. It's about critical thinking, creativity, orchestration, and the distinctly human edges AI can't replicate. 🟣 The 95% Failure Rate: Why massive enterprises are bombing at AI while medium businesses are thriving—and what that tells you about hierarchy, bureaucracy, and the future of work. 🟣 Map Your Transferable Skills Now: Kara shares how she audited her own day, identified what drained her energy, and built a business around her highest-value work. 🟣 The Co-Founder Advantage: Why going solo is overrated and how partnering with the right person accelerates velocity, accountability, and joy. 🟣 Women Are 25% Behind in AI Adoption: But Kara argues this isn't weakness—it's wisdom. Women's lived experience with ethics and care is exactly what the AI era needs. 🟣 Beyond 2030: What happens when labour is decoupled from profit? Kara gets brutally honest about wealth concentration, government intervention, universal income, and what individuals must do right now. ____________ 🔥 Why This Episode Matters: If you've been waiting for permission to reinvent yourself, this is it. If you've been scared to leave corporate, overwhelmed by AI, or unsure what skills actually matter anymore—Kara delivers the roadmap. She's living proof that you can leap from the safety of a senior role into building something meaningful, future-focused, and aligned with your values. This conversation isn't about fear. It's about agency. It's about stepping into the driver's seat of your career before someone else decides your fate. ____________ ⏰ Time Stamps 00:00 – The fear everyone has about AI (and why most people are already behind) 02:15 – Kara’s unconventional career path: filmmaker → COO → AI founder 05:40 – Why companies are implementing AI wrong (and the hidden cost) 08:12 – The myth of “AI replaces jobs”—what’s really happening inside organisations 10:30 – Job hugging: why corporate stability is officially dead 12:05 – The collapse of middle management & what that means for your career 14:20 – Skills vs job titles: the mindset shift you MUST make now 16:40 – How Kara mapped her transferable skills to pivot into AI 19:10 – Why the dopamine of “busywork” is holding you back 20:30 – The power of co-founders and the new model of work 23:55 – The female advantage in AI (and why more women MUST enter this space) 26:40 – Wealth concentration, governments, and what 2030 may really look like 30:25 – How to build the human skills AI cannot replace 33:40 – Why leaders need to carve out thinking time for their people 36:20 – How Kara’s company, Ethic AI, is preparing organisations for the future 40:10 – AI slop, brand differentiation & the rise of personalised experience 43:00 – The one skill that will decide who thrives in the AI era 46:25 – Philosophy, poetry & critical thinking: why they matter in an AI-driven world 49:15 – Women and AI: the 25% adoption lag and how to close the gap 52:50 – Final message: Why acting now matters more than ever 54:10 – Kara’s call to women: Your lived experience is exactly what AI needs
